What do you think of our blog?

1. What do you particularly like about it? What's especially impressive?
What could be improved? What's missing or could be added?

2. Based on what you've read on the blog (and maybe seen in test screenings in class) what suggestions do you have regarding what we could do to make our Practical Production really successful?

What other things could we include in the production?
How should we go about filming any remaining scenes or editing the footage during post-production (+ suggestions for music, etc.)?

1. I think that the research that you've carried out on other films are really good, and i like the way that you've posted up some of the music videos etc that you may use in your practical production.

2. i think you could add more photographs/pictures of possible areas you are going to film/or have filmed at.

3. In your production i think you could vary camera angles and shots.

4. From watching the test screening on your production i thought that the camera was a bit too shakey and so you should use a tripod more often.

overall i look forward to seeing the end result!

1.What i really like about your blog are the colours you have chosen, it fits well with the title of your production, and makes all your colours stand out.

* What you can add in your blog are pictures of where you all have been out for filming as proof, it will also make your blog interesting to look at it.

*What you can improve on in your production is that get more shots such as, get shots of local areas :S and try to use your tripod.

Overall i wish you all the best and i cant wait to see the final thing good luck guys

1. I like the use of movies which fit the same genre as yours. Also, im intrigued by the contrast between the movies "You got served" and "Four Brothers". It is a unique bond which you have tried to combine into your narrative. I also think you have put effort into your research. I think that you should add some footage of your production so that we can know how far along you are with the filming.
2. I think that your filming needs to be a bit more concrete, you need to have a solid narrative so that your story can flow well. Also include a range of shots.

I think your research was carried out well. Although I would like to see more research into the genre you're covering. Try to learn what conventions make it a success, and what lets it down.

In this case, editing would be your best option. Having dramatic, fast paced editing would create various enigmas which would make your production very interesting.

A variety of shots with quick straight cuts. Perhaps start out slow, then move into quick cuts?

Use instrumental tracks, as you wouldn't want the vocals to interrupt the voice over.

1.This blog is looking really good one thing i like in particular is the way you have recorded what you have done so far shows that you all are organised.

2.The research which you have done will be useful however i think you could add some more on what you have already produced so that you can get feedback on that

* From what I’ve seen on the blog your production looks good, you’ve analysed trailers that would appeal to the target audience and posted up music videos/ also giving detailed progress reports.

* You could post up a few pictures and footage.

Keep up the good work:)

* Your blog looks good, you lot have done so much research on trailers which is good and will help you plan out yours, the blog seem update which is good stuff.

* As a group you lot haven’t really posted up any footage or pictures of your trailer. i think that you should post some footage up on your blog as we can comment on it giving you more ideas.

* From watching your test screening the shots that were taken were a bit too shaky, therefore you should use the tripod as this will enable you lot to get more steady shots.

* Overall, your blog looks good and keep the good work up good luck...

I really like the storline of the film as focuses on a range of audiences and sounds pretty interesting. Also the movies you've researched are really relavant to your production and will definately help you alot.

Make sure the shots in your trailer clearly convey the storyline and match the audience.

Try to give your trailer a really fast pace throughout but end it by shocking the audience somehow so that they remember it. O and give it some loud and upbeat music so it links to your story and matches the audience.
GOOD LUCK!

- 1) What I like most about your blog is the way that you have done some good research in to previous film trailers which would prove useful to your own trailer. Its also a good idea that you have inserted clips or images of the trailers that you have used so that you (and others) can refer back them easily if required. Also, like the plain black background as the seriousness of it goes well with the theme of your trailer and also enables whoever is reading your blog to be more focused on your actual work.
Possibly try and post up detailed plans of your scenes i.e. include shot types, second counts, lighting arrangement etc. Also try and make your progress reports more detailed by adding evaluations as this will help you when doing future filming/editing.

-2) What type of music is your protagonist trying to break through in? …. If for example it’s in the Indian music industry, use a British Indian voiceover to try and reflect that… might work. Also, it looks like your target audience is teenagers so make sure you use fast cuts and shots to try and appeal to the energy of a teen as well incorporating mtv style (fast editing).

Good luck with everything and well done…

The research is really good as it helps the audience understand your work.

Try to make sure that your progress reports are detailed so you know yourself what you need to do, and how you can improve certain scenes.

You guys need to clarify the actual narrative of the production, so that in the production is aware of what is happening..

i think that the blog looks really nice with good details research and good analysis, i like the way that u included lot of videos and lot of pictures of trailers realated to ur topic. the topic is really good it is different form other trailers.
what u could add some of ur footage and some pictures on ur blog to show wat ur doing, like maybe the pictures of the actors.
for the post production, u can add parallel music to the type of music ur doing. and use trailer conventions, like close ups when filming the main actor etc...
good luck for the editing...

In general, I think your blog is really good as its up to date and it has all the videos from you tube that help make your point. I think the actual title is totally relevant and the fact that it has a double meaning is good as it keeps the audience thinking. Also, the analysis for the trailers is really detailed so well done.
I didn’t see the test screening because I wasn’t there but your idea seems interesting.
I think that you need to really consider the music though because your storyline is based on how the guy makes it to the top in the music industry- so I think the music you use in the trailer needs to be the most powerful and effective.
Experiment with different types of music- don’t just stick to RnB or Hiphop.
Also, use a variety of angles and shots.

Your blog looks neat. Analysis of the trailers is first class. Add some of your own footage which enables everyone to give more helpful feedback.

Use your tripod. The handheld camera spoilt a lot of your shots. Don't tell the story in your trailer, introduce it. Challenge stereotypes by basing your storyline on an individual who you would not normally associate with gun crime and drugs.

i think that you lot have done some good research into the prodduction and used a good topic to focus on which will attract the target audience. You posted up some good work and this all relates to the media group this year which will make it easier for us to understand.

try not to fall into the traps of making the productions same as previous ones use some good shots and dilraj must have some good links so you could getgood interviews from them.
Good luck

*Your blog looks good, you can tell that you have clearly researched and looked at a lot of diferent texts to make your trailer look good..
*You have posted up information about what you have done and what you have to do to improve etc but maybe you should consider postingup some still images of your production? it will work well and you will receive feed back on how you ca improve etc..
*For post production, you should think about starting off you productuion with a voice over and then go onto a fast monatge sequence of different yet important shots..

Good luck with the blog and post production..

The research posted is very detailed and informative and all relevant to the narrative for your pratical production, such as the research on trailer analysis which will benefit your ideas. I like all the pictures and you tube links which make your blog more appealing and interesting.
To improve, you could maybe post up pictures of shots produced and locations in which you have filmed.
For post production a parallel sound track would suit ur production and use a variety of shots.

1. You've done lots of research which i think's good...

2. I think puting up some clips of what you've filmed would have been good..

3. Definately use a slow, instrumental track when it comes to the post production stage!

1. You've created a lively blog and analysed a range of relevant texts. The blog stands out well due to the range of fonts you've chosen and informs well about the documentary you are producing. I think to improve the blog you could add small extracts of what you've filmed so far.

2. Try to use a range of shots and effects. However avoid trying to make it look too fancy as this may lead to making the production look amateur.

alot of good research has been carried out by your group which is really good and i like the way that you have included the movie trailer along with it in order for us to see exactly what you are trying to analyse. i like how you have also added music videos which refers to the genre as it is about how a boy wants to make it big in the music industry.

try and add some videos or images of different locations where you are going to be filming and try and use a number of different camera angle shots. make sure to include montages as it is a trailer and have quick shots and cuts to make it more eye catching.

Keep up the good work and i cant wait to see your end product. good luck

Your blog has alot of useful information in it. Your research has been done well...for arthouse movies as well as hollywood ones. I think that you've got so much more that you could add to your blog such as more images based on your own footage and maybe some moving texts which you could take off of youtube etc. But overall I think you've done well in your blog.

1. I think that your research is really strong and solid as it also contains lots of examples which can really help alot. By having such a variety including one of our exam topics 'Bullet Boy', ur knowledge and ideas will be strong. Also you have alot of progress reports showing that you are giving time, commitment and effort into your production.

2. You could maybe have pictures of you filming or maybe you could post up the footage you have so far.

3. More solid in terms of what are the roles of each of you, e.g. who is the main character of this tralier (and the film)

4. I think that the sound/music has to be right, more so because your production involves the main character working his way to the top of the music industry

Good Luck and wish u the best 4 the whole production! :)

1. The research on trailers and other movies is really detailed and good.

2. Maybe you should post up pictures of possible locations or even scenes from movies which will ressemble yours.

3. With this kind of a movie i think you should use conventions that are used in bullet boy, make everything look natural but still entertaining, like a docusoap.

The research is a strong point about your blog. The embedded videos and photographs make the blog more interesting. You could use the videos within your documentary.

You could used dates within your titles to organise the blog.

I forgot this question but from the looks of everyone else's comments I think that you should use lots of shots..?

i think that the research carried outon other film that relate to your genre are good. i would like to see some moving image research as well and practical production clips.

in your production i think you should use a tripod and steady shots also have longer shots so if footage is damage it doesn't matter.
